Who are we?
About the internship:

Would you like to gain some work experience in Development with a tech start-up in Amsterdam? We are always looking for self-motivated and dedicated back-end or front-end development interns. Our development team works on new projects and on new features for existing platforms such as our own successful community platform Plek.

You will get the chance to develop cross platform websites and web-apps, develop Proof of Concept of new things and develop prototypes for new products. There will also be the opportunity to participate to concept-teams and be involved with new and complex projects for different clients and start-ups.

What you'll be doing:

● Develop and improve Plek with a team of designers, front-enders and other back-enders

● Implement new integrations with other systems

● Make sure Plek stays super secure

● Experiment with new technologies and prototypes

● Come up with intelligent tricks to make Plek smarter

● Help other developers fix bugs

We have 300+ organisations that use Plek on a daily basis!

The ideal candidate;

You're a Development Intern who loves to learn, and you like to work with the latest technologies. You have experience with PHP, MySQ, Javascript, HTML, HTML5, and preferably a little bit of experience with (or want to know more about) Angular Js, Node js, React and/or React Native, MongoDB and ElasticSearch.

● You’re a thorough tester and you know how to spot and quickly fix a bug;

● Good spoken and written English (Dutch is a plus);

● Intelligent, creative and well structured;

● At Plek, you will work together with Node.js back-end developers, front-end developers, interaction and visual designers, and project managers. A methodical approach, creative spirit and a critical eye on your own work are a big plus.
