About you:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior frontend developer to join our team and lead the development of new, strategically important features for our SaaS product. You will work in a cross-functional team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software. As a Senior Developer, you will also play a crucial role in helping Plek improve our code quality and help introduce a culture of quickly and predictably delivering maintainable, unit-tested code following industry best practices.

You will bring to the team:

What you'll be doing:

• Drive the development of new features for our SaaS product using JavaScript (React/React Native) and other relevant technologies.
• Drive the adoption of best practices for code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Provide technical guidance to developers, promoting their growth and development.
• Collaborate with business, designers, QA engineers, and account managers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of new features, with a focus on UX/UI discussions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the overall quality of the codebase.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize application performance.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our development processes.

The ideal candidate;

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Extensive experience working as a TypeScript and/or JavaScript developer, with a strong focus on React/React Native.
• Proven track record of successfully leading the development of software projects, especially from a UI/UX perspective.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, including ES6+ features.
  
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme) and writing testable code.
  
• Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows.
  
• Proficient in using modern development tools and workflows (e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn).
  
• Experience with agile development methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex applications.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Experience building products that adhere to current best practices in web security.

And even better would be:

• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web and mobile applications.
  
• Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  
• Prior experience mentoring or coaching developers is highly desirable.
